H.R. 5741 Universal National Service Act
Remember when Michelle gave this speech? Well, here it comes. Mandatory service for everyone, men and women, from 18 yrs old to 42 yrs old, for 2 years. H.R. 5741 is in Congress right now getting ready to be passed. Didn't this happen before? Where was that? Oh yes, Germany! About 70 years ago. Wake up people!

American Business - The Real Wealth Makers
We must understand that it is business, not the government, that can help us grow out of this recession. The government is creating so many obstacles that prevent the growth of business, from health care reform to financial regulation to cap and trade, it is no wonder that business is not investing in growing their companies. They have no true idea how these thousands of pages of new laws and regulations are going to affect their operations. Most small businesses will be bogged down with additional paperwork and reporting responsibilities and do not have the money to hire lawyers to pore over the laws and regulations to determine what they truly mean and how they must comply. So much for the free market! So much for The American Dream!
“To the glory of mankind, there was, for the first and only time in history, a country of money – and I have no higher, more reverent tribute to pay to America for this means: a country of reason, justice, freedom, production, achievement. For the first time, man’s mind and money were set free, and there were no fortunes by conquest, but only fortunes-by-work, and instead of swordsmen and slaves, there appeared the real maker of wealth, the greatest worker, the highest type of human being – the self-made man – the American industrialist.” Ayn Rand – Atlas Shrugged

Britain Plans To Decentralize Health Care System
Let us learn from the "test group" in Great Britain who have come to realize that nationalized health care is not the answer to lowering health care costs, even as Dr. Donald Berwick espouses his love for NHS and his plans to ration health care for us "with his eyes open". Great Britain is now attempting to restructure their entire system as they must cut costs in an effort to sustain their nationalized system in Britain Plans To Decentralize Health Care System in this article in the New York Tomes.

Germany Considers Tax on the Obese
Is this what we have to look forward to with Obamacare? Our kids weighed every day, big brother calling parents, teachers telling your kids they are fat? DHS taking your kids away from you? They have done that in England with 20 kids already. Does anyone else but me think that this is totally out of control? The IRS in charge of making sure that you - monthly - have health care insurance? When did this stop being the land of the free? Check out this article from AOLnews.com Germany Considers Tax on the Obese - coming soon to a country (uhoh!) near you.

Agenda 21 - Sustainability Is Here!
After quite a bit of research I have accumulated copious amounts of information on the U.N.'s push for sustainability for the "global community" in it's entirety. Please have an open mind and after you review this information keep your eyes and ears open to these words - Agenda 21, sustainability, global governance, smart power, smart growth, communitarianism, climate change, global warming, IPCC, CCX, USAID, ICLEI, "green" anything, Cap and Trade, carbon emissions, carbon credits, carbon trading, deforestation, World Wildlife Fund, Sierra Club, distribution of wealth, environmental justice, social justice. These are all part of a plan conceived by governments and big business and is presently being implemented by the leaders of the U.N. and affiliated NGO's (non-government organizations). The primary purpose is to control population growth, control urban sprawl, limit where you live, what you drive, how much energy you use, transfer private property from individuals into government ownership and control. I will start with information posted through the U.N. and other sources that will explain the goal of this from a global perspective and then show how this is being implemented in the United States, within the State of Florida and finally here in Hillsborough County and Tampa, Florida.
First, I must say that if you hear a lot of the speeches (propaganda) they do make it sound like a really virtuous endeavor. SAVE THE WORLD! (Perhaps I should not have used green for that!) Who can argue with that? But anthropogenic (man-made) global warming is not "settled science" by any means. For a little comic relief, check out the video on my blog from George Carlin about saving the world that I posted in May.
Keep checking back as I post information on this extremely important and largely unknown subject. I have been speaking with many candidates who are running for different offices in the county and state, and many are unaware or only vaguely aware of this issue.

A Few Comments and Videos Regarding The Light Rail Initiative
As you may know by now, Hillsborough County will have to vote FOR or AGAINST a one cent sales tax increase to help fund a light rail system for the area this November. I have been doing some research into this and would like to share what I have discovered. First this commentary from The Cato Institute Public Transit: A Classic Example of Government in Action which shows that once again statistics prove that a government run utility cannot make money. It seems that private automobiles are less expensive to operate and do not pollute any more than a train and bus system do.
I also have a link here to Moving Hillsborough Forward with several videos and information regarding the light rail proposal. Pay particular attention to the video with Robert Grow. Apparently we are so lucky to have gotten this federal grant and if we have to match the funds, so be it, we are still the luckiest people on the planet! Right! I also found out today that the contemplated speed train connecting Orlando and Tampa will not go to the airport as initially outlined. People will have to change trains in downtown Tampa and take the light rail to the airport.
You can learn all about the FTA by going to Federal Transit Administration and read about the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and their goals of sustainability and the grants available for "improving" mass transit in urban communities.
If you do not want to have your sales tax increased to 8% (a 14% increase over our present 7%) and which would result in the largest sales tax base in the state, please go to No Tax For Tracks and sign the petition.

"NO HE CAN'T" Anne Wortham on Barack Obama
Anne Wortham is Associate Professor of Sociology at Illinois State University and continuing Visiting Scholar at Stanford University's Hoover Institution.
She is a member of the American Sociological Association and the American Philosophical Association.
She has been a John M. Olin Foundation Faculty Fellow, and honored as a Distinguished Alumni of the Year by the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education.
In fall 1988 she was one of a select group of intellectuals who were featured in Bill Moyer's television series, "A World of Ideas." The transcript of her conversation with Moyers has been published in his book, A World of Ideas.
Dr. Wortham is author of "The Other Side of Racism: A Philosophical Study of Black Race Consciousness" which analyzes how race consciousness is transformed into political strategies and policy issues.
She has published numerous articles on the implications of individual rights for civil rights policy, and is currently writing a book on theories of social and cultural marginality.
Recently, she has published articles on the significance of multiculturalism and Afrocentricism in education, the politics of victimization and the social and political impact of political correctness. Shortly after an interview in 2004, she was awarded tenure.
This article by her from November 2008 is really, really something.
Fellow Americans,
Please know: I am Black; I grew up in the segregated South. I did not vote for Barack Obama; I wrote in Ron Paul's name as my choice for president. Most importantly, I am not race conscious. I do not require a Black president to know that I am a person of worth, and that life is worth living. I do not require a Black president to love the ideal of America.
I cannot join you in your celebration. I feel no elation. There is no smile on my face. I am not jumping with joy. There are no tears of triumph in my eyes. For such emotions and behavior to come from me, I would have to deny all that I know about the requirements of human flourishing and survival - all that I know about the history of the United States of America, all that I know about American race relations, and all that I know about Barack Obama as a politician. I would have to deny the nature of the "change" that Obama asserts has come to America.
Most importantly, I would have to abnegate my certain understanding that you have chosen to sprint down the road to serfdom that we have been on for over a century. I would have to pretend that individual liberty has no value for the success of a human life. I would have to evade your rejection of the slender reed of capitalism on which your success and mine depend. I would have to think it somehow rational that 94 percent of the 12 million Blacks in this country voted for a man because he looks like them (that Blacks are permitted to play the race card), and that they were joined by self-declared "progressive" whites who voted for him because he doesn't look like them.
I would have to wipe my mind clean of all that I know about the kind of people who have advised and taught Barack Obama and will fill posts in his administration - political intellectuals like my former colleagues at the Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government.
I would have to believe that "fairness" is equivalent of justice. I would have to believe that a man who asks me to "go forward in a new spirit of service, in a new service of sacrifice" is speaking in my interest. I would have to accept the premise of a man that economic prosperity comes from the "bottom up," and who arrogantly believes that he can will it into existence by the use of government force. I would have to admire a man who thinks the standard of living of the masses can be improved by destroying the most productive and the generators of wealth.
Finally, Americans, I would have to erase from my consciousness the scene of 125,000 screaming, crying, cheering people in Grant Park, Chicago irrationally chanting "Yes We Can!" Finally, I would have to wipe all memory of all the times I have heard politicians, pundits, journalists, editorialists, bloggers and intellectuals declare that capitalism is dead - and no one, including especially Alan Greenspan, objected to their assumption that the particular version of the anti-capitalistic mentality that they want to replace with their own version of anti-capitalism is anything remotely equivalent to capitalism.
So you have made history, Americans. You and your children have elected a Black man to the office of the president of the United States, the wounded giant of the world. The battle between John Wayne and Jane Fonda is over - and Fonda won. Eugene McCarthy and George McGovern must be very happy men. Jimmie Carter, too. And the Kennedys have at last gotten their Kennedy look-a-like. The self-righteous welfare statists in the suburbs can feel warm moments of satisfaction for having elected a Black person.
So, toast yourselves: 60s countercultural radicals, 80s yuppies and 90s bourgeois bohemians. Toast yourselves, Black America. Shout your glee Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Duke, Stanford, and Berkeley. You have elected not an individual who is qualified to be president, but a Black man who, like the pragmatist Franklin Roosevelt, promises to - Do Something! You now have someone who has picked up the baton of Lyndon Johnson's Great Society. But you have also foolishly traded your freedom and mine - what little there is left - for the chance to feel good.
There is nothing in me that can share your happy obliviousness.
God Help Us all.

New Black Panther Party Video
I think we need to take this seriously. There is something much more subversive going on in this country than any of us would like to admit. The majority of Americans (whites, blacks, hispanics, asians) are not racists and want everyone, regardless of race, religion or ethnicity, to have equal rights and equal liberties. We cannot allow a few fringe elements to divide us in our continued fight for freedom, liberty and equality! We must pull together and not allow such rhetoric and hate speech to divide us and our great country.
As I am writing this the NAACP is in a meeting to condemn the Tea Party movement as racist!

Thomas Jefferson - Eternal Truths, Eternal Wisdom
John F. Kennedy held a dinner in the White House for a group of the
brightest minds in the nation at that time. He made this statement:
"This is perhaps the assembly of the most intelligence ever to gather
at one time in the White House with the exception of when Thomas
Jefferson dined alone."
Especially read the last quote from 1802.
When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we
shall become as corrupt as Europe.
Thomas Jefferson
The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are
willing to work and give to those who would not.
Thomas Jefferson
It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.
Thomas Jefferson
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government
from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
Thomas Jefferson
My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from
too much government.
Thomas Jefferson
No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.
Thomas Jefferson
The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.
Thomas Jefferson
The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of
patriots and tyrants.
Thomas Jefferson
To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he
disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.
Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson said in 1802 :
'I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property - until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.'

Since When Have We Started Calling Jerusalem "Al Quds"?
In a statement by John Brennan, President Obama's Counter-Terrorism Chief, he refers to his favorite city in the middle east as Al Quds! We are ever so stealthily becoming subjected to a Muslim vision of the future of our country and the world. Wake Up, America! Before it is too late!
Obama EPA Proposes New Regulations For Coal Burning Power Plants
These new regulations, mandating that coal burning power plants reduce their sulfur dioxide emissions by 71 percent from 2005 levels by 2014 and nitrogen oxide emissions by 52 percent in the same time frame, will result in a cost to consumers of nearly $3 Billion Dollars a year.
Known as the Clean Air Interstate Rule, the measure requires 31 states from Massachusetts to Texas to reduce smog and soot-producing emissions that can travel long distances in the wind. The agency predicted the rule would prevent about 14,000 to 36,000 premature deaths a year. If there were truly that many deaths a year from smog and soot-producing emissions, surely we would have known about it.
In this article from the Associated Press in The Washington Post today this regulation will most likely force older coal burning plants to be closed.
Of course this is the intention of this administration as explained by President Obama in his description of his "cap and trade" legislation in this you tube video below. The Cap and Trade Legislation has been held up by the Senate, so the EPA is doing the job. This administration has been able to accomplish quite a lot without having to answer to the American people. Our Constitution and our rights are arrogantly being ignored and trampled upon by President Obama and his administration.

I Understand Elections Have Consequences...
I understand that the President has the right to bypass Senate confirmation hearings by making recess appointments (they all do it), but is the appointment of Dr. Donald Berwick to be the administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS is the agency that runs the Medicare and Medicaid programs) what we all signed up for? Those of you who were pushing for the passage of Obamacare, is this what you wanted? The President promised 1) if you like your health care, you can keep it and 2) if you like your primary care provider, you can keep him or her. Dr. Berwick has expressed his admiration for the British Health Care system. In fact he has said he is "romantic about the National Health Service, I love it." For more in depth information of Dr. Berwick's position on rationing health care, this post from The Morning Bell, "Rationer-In-Chief" of The Heritage Foundation cites several comments by Dr. Berwick that should have each and every one of us extremely concerned.
This man is now in charge of cutting $500 Billion Dollars from Medicare and Medicaid! Do you remember how vilified Sarah Palin was when she spoke about the heath care reform bill having "death panels" in it? I am afraid she was quite correct in her analysis of the bill. But the press discounted her comments and ridiculed her for making such an outrageous statement. That would never, could never, happen in America. Right?
More "light" is being shone on Dr. Berwick's beliefs about rationing of health care and redistribution of wealth as it pertains to health care. From Human Events, Michelle Oddis has outlined the Top Ten Things Obama Doesn't Want You To Know About Donald Berwick.
This man is dangerous. There is nothing we can do to oppose his appointment. It is a done deal. Our only hope of changing the direction of health care in this country as we know it, and with which the majority of Americans are happy, is to work tirelessly for the complete repeal of Obamacare. At the very least, we must get conservative majorities in the House and Senate this year, so that the programs mandated by the bill will never be funded.

True Law Is Nature's Law
"True law is right reason in agreement with nature; it is of universal application, unchanging and everlasting; it summons to duty by its commands, and averts from wrongdoing by its prohibitions...It is a sin to try to alter this law, nor is it allowable to repeal any part of it, and it is impossible to abolish it entirely." Health Alert: "Green" Shopping Bags Can Make You Sick
In an article in the U. K. Telegraph, if you are using those "green" shopping bags for your groceries, be careful. They can harbor such nasty food poison bugs like e. coli and salmonella. You have to wash them and disinfect them to get rid of any potentially life threatening bacteria.
Tea Party Anger Dissected
Yes, the Tea Partiers are angry. We have every right to be. You see, we grew up in a country where we were told that each and every one of us was free to pursue our personal interpretation of happiness. We are moral people. We played by the rules. But the rules have changed, and that has left us feeling used and demoralized. We are incensed by the very notion that, having lived our lives within the moral and social guidelines that we trusted would not fail us, we find ourselves in the uncomfortable position of uncertainty for our future and the future of our beloved country.
We are the ones who studied hard, worked hard, and were able to enjoy our lives and had the ability to do whatever we desired, whether it was to travel, buy the newest gadget or the nicest automobile, give to our children, save for our retirement, as a result of that effort. That is what America is all about, what capitalism is all about.
We bought houses with substantial down payments (either from saving or “trading up”) and fully documented mortgages where we knew we could afford the payments. We did not take the easy way out. We dutifully saved money, taking advantage of IRAs and 401Ks, wanting to secure a comfortable retirement.
There were rumblings of a “housing bubble”, and bad mortgages, but our illustrious leaders assured us that everything was stable, everything was safe...until it wasn’t.
Many of us held good positions with good companies, but this recession has left us unemployed or underemployed. And we are looking around, wondering what happened. Our government has borrowed from our future and our children’s future to bail out banks, mortgage companies, insurance companies, automobile companies, all considered too big to fail. Our neighbors who took advantage of cheap and easy mortgage financing to buy a bigger house, knowing full well that they could never afford the payment, have been portrayed as the “victims” in this financial disaster. That was not supposed to happen. We were under the impression, apparently a false impression, that if a company or individual did not “live within its’ means” and refused to take corrective action, they would file bankruptcy and/or go out of business, much like what would surely happen to us if we did the same.
The government caused this collapse by deregulating mortgage finance requirements and convincing just about everyone that they deserved a home, that it was their right to own a home. To make the situation worse, banks and lenders that were hesitant to make these risky mortgages were threatened with charges of discrimination if they did not comply. Since these mortgages were FNMA and FHLMC compliant they were able to originate and sell them. It became easy money, and when the government sanctioned, even forced, their will on these businesses, they got greedy. I do not blame them totally. This was a combined effort of the federal government, banks and lenders, and borrowers. They are all culpable.
But somehow, it is we the Tea Partiers who are left holding an empty bag. You know, we who played by the rules, who did what was right, who did not “game” the system.
That is why we are angry!
