An Interesting Weekend

As my daughter and I flew up to Washington, D.C. to be a part of history and attend the Restoring Honor rally, we met some very interesting people. As I usually do when travelling with a companion, I like to choose aisle seats for both of us, so we sit across from each other. The gentleman behind me was a retired university philosophy professor from Canada, and actually a Jewish immigrant from Hungary. He had been visiting his uncle in Tampa, who was in a very expensive nursing home, paying $7,000.00 per month. He wanted to understand our health care system, and why it would cost so much for this end of life care. His uncle is apparently lucid but bedridden and has only a few weeks or so to live. The gentleman sitting next to my daughter was a physician flying up to D.C. with his wife to attend a medical conference, one of the very few on the plane that was not going to the rally. I explained to the nephew that if the nursing home had told him that medicare had run out, as he had told me, that means that there is no more that can be done medically to help him. The physician next to my daughter told him that the physician at the nursing home is probably taking advantage of him, and that he should be contacting Hospice, which would provide end of life care at home, which was his uncle's wish.

So this gentleman from Canada was wondering what was so great about our health care that we were so against nationalized health care. I asked him several questions. He had paid over the years approximately 45% of his income to the state for social services such as health care, and the V.A.T. (consumption) tax is 15%. He told me he had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer years ago and the medical system worked just fine. But as he explained it to me, when he was diagnosed he was told it would be 3 months until he could be scheduled for surgery. Apparently he did not like the whole waiting thing, so he contacted his "private" insurer, to which he had been paying premiums along with his employer, the university. They could do the surgery in 2 weeks, so he went out of the state program and was treated through his private company. And he was very happy with that! I did not ask him how much he paid for this private insurance, but I find it interesting that a professor of philosophy could not see the facts staring him right in the face. HE was lucky to be in a position where he could access outside medical care when he needed it. How many Canadians are not, and how many Americans will not be so fortunate once the health care reform policies roll out?

The gentleman behind my daughter was flying up for the rally, and he gave the man a booklet entitled Essential Liberty, documents essential to American Liberty, including the Declaration of Independence and The Constitution. All in all it was an enlightening adventure and I invite you to visit Patriot Post and see what fellow patriots are writing about in the movement to preserve this great country and restore it to the shining city on the hill we know it to be.

Pay attention folks: the government wants your IRA's and 401K's

In an article posted by Jerome R. Corsi in WorldNetDaily on August 26, 2010, "The Obama administration appears to be proceeding with a novel way of financing trillion-dollar budget deficits by forcing IRA and 401(k) holders to buy Treasury bonds by mandating the placement of government-structured annuities in their investment accounts."

"The requirement to invest private retirement assets has been cleverly buried within plans to create "automatic IRAs" that would mandate employer groups enroll all employees in 401(k) or IRA plans."

Please read the entire article so you can understand who and what is behind this.

We are already required to contribute to the federal government's Social Security program, which was sold to us on the promise to return to us a small monthly allocation in our retirement years. We were told that this was a trust fund and would never be used for any other purpose. The reality is that the federal government has been "borrowing" from this fund for many years for other purposes, and all that is left in there is a lot of IOU's. Social Security has gone from Social Security to So-So Security to "will we ever see the money when we retire?"

Now they want more of our money in their control by requiring a "government-mandated nationalized program".

This is yet another encroachment of the federal government into our private lives. If you wonder why the economy is flat-lining and why there is no job growth, what small business would plan on expanding and growing when they are unsure of their expenses? As it stands, they have to consider the national health care laws, the loss of the Bush tax cuts next year, the potential of new cap and trade legislation, and now, even if an employee chooses to opt out of this program, the employer would still have to contribute 3% of an employee's pay to this "fund".

We all must start looking at these "fundamentally transforming" laws and regulations and ask - Where in the Constitution does the federal government have the power to do this?

I'm Taking Action - Michael Berry of KTRH.com / 950KPRC.com

A Call To Action - If you believe we are headed in the wrong direction, get up, get involved and get these people out of Washington in November. It may be our last chance to stop the "fundamental transformation" of our exceptional America.

E.P.A. at it again

In an article today in the Weekly Standard by John McCormack the The E.P.A. is reviewing a request to ban lead bullets, even though they are barred by statute from controlling ammunition. This is yet another attempt to violate our 2nd Amendment Rights. If we lose our second amendment rights, we have lost our first amendment rights. Why is Congress allowing this administration to bypass the legislative branch without so much as a whimper?  We no longer have a balance of power in our government. It is critical that we elect good conservative Republicans this November and stop the advancement of the Obama agenda. This is the only way we can stop this road to socialism, to not allow these mandates to be funded.

It is time to look again at what I wrote in my very first post, quoting from Daniel Webster - "It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters." and Thomas Jefferson - “In questions of power, then, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution."

Our Founding Fathers were very wise men who knew that men in positions of power will most certainly abuse it. That is why the Constitution limits the powers of the federal government. These powers are definitive, and those not specifically enumerated in the Bill of Rights are reserved to the States and to the people in Amendment X.

Would you qualify for a winter fuel payment in the U.K?

This is an interesting site. Direct.gov.uk has information for people who are eligible for winter fuel payments this winter. Look carefully at who IS NOT eligible. I played around in this site quite a bit. The "green" movement is such a big issue in the EU. Apparently there was a record number of "excess" deaths last year due to the rising energy costs and the elderly not being able to afford to pay their heating bills.

If cap and trade passes, this is what we have to look forward to in the future.

A must read letter from a 912 Patriot

Fellow Patriots,

Chilling News from Crawford County, Ohio

Re: Republican Dinner Last Night

Just thought I would share with you a little bit of what we heard at last night's Republican dinner here in Crawford County, Ohio. John Kasich (running for Gov. of Ohio ) was the keynote speaker. Also present were many politicians, most notably, Bob Latta, our U.S. Congressman. Mike and I walked up to Bob and thanked him for his conservative voting record and voiced our concern about what is going on in Washington. He made some funny botox remarks about Pelosi and then agreed with us that we have every reason to be concerned.

As there were others waiting to talk to him, our time was brief. Although what took place later that evening should make chills run up and down everyone's spine to hear. He had asked to speak a few words at the end of the night and went up on stage. He proceeded to tell the crowd how bad things really are in Washington . He said he only had a few minutes to speak, but if he could tell us even half of what the agenda is and what this administration plans to do to our country we couldn't sleep at night. He said he only gets about 4 to 4-1/2 hours of sleep a night and worries constantly about what they want to do to this country. He said that Pelosi, Reid and Obama have to be stopped.

He said, "You know, you always hear this is the most important election blah blah blah, but I am telling you people...whatever you have to do to wake people up you need to do! We have got to vote them out in 2010 or with the things they have planned for this country we won't even be a country by 2020! Ten years. You could see the look of almost desperation on his face.

He talked about the huge debt. He talked about how the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) gets their "figures". He sits on the finance committee of some sort and listens to the ramblings of Geitner and Bernanke. He said "If you think that the Chinese won't hold this over us with all our debt you have another thought coming. Our children will have nothing. I don't care if you have to go out door to door, tell at least 10 people who will then tell 10 people. We have to do this. This is the single most important election ever in the history of this country. The change that Obama promised us is NOT the change people thought he meant."

WE CAN GET RID OF MOST OF THE BAD GUYS IN CONGRESS THIS NOVEMBER, INCLUDING “FANCY NANCY”. LET’S DO IT RIGHT THIS TIME!

My friend's observation: We have got to do better about getting behind our candidates in a unified voice and doing what is necessary to help them get elected, whether that is helping raise money, working in their offices, phone banking or boots on the ground. It also means that we need to help those national candidates that are being attacked by the Left Machine like Michele Bachmann. Another thing is that we need to better “vet” our candidates and be careful about jumping behind candidates that have “serious quirks, ideologies or problems” that can be used to attack and cripple and confuse the election process therefore attacking the Tea Party movement in general.

U.S. human rights report hails Obama practices

In an article in the Washington Times, President Obama will deliver a 29 page Human Rights report to the United Nations Human Rights Council, detailing the human rights violations (as perceived by our President and his administration) such as slavery, Guantanamo Bay, don't ask don't tell, and others, that have been perpetrated by the United States of America.

The Bush Administration refused to participate and boycotted the U. N.'s Human Rights Council because China, Cuba, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and other countries have abysmal human rights records. The Obama Administration, under U. N. Ambassador Susan Rice, has said that they have participated in order to strengthen and reform the Human Rights Council. I expect we should be prepared for some harsh criticism from this body of Sharia law followers, dictators, fascists and kings for our atrocious human rights violations. I wonder if they will fine us or demand some sort of reparation???

Once again I say - We need to get out of the U.N. and get the U.N. out of these United States!

Ronald Reagan and Ron Paul: A Comparison

This video is not of great quality, but the comparison is important. We need to send reasonable men to Washington who are there to serve us, not line their own pockets and spend trillions of dollars we do not have. This is generational theft and we have got to put an end to it on November 2, 2010. There are approximately 308 million Americans, and our national debt is now over 13 Trillion! The debt per citizen exceeds $43,070.00 and the debt per taxpayer is over $120,401.00. Ask yourself, what are you getting from your government that should cost this much? Vote in the primary,  vote in the general election. You cannot sit on the sidelines anymore.

Federal Reserve Debt Monetization Explained.

An interesting, easy to understand video regarding the Federal Reserve and what happens when they monetize the debt - inflation is around the corner...

Dr. Charles Krauthammer: Analysis of President Barack Obama

DR KRAUTHAMMER: Enlightening.

Dr. Krauthammer is on Fox News. He is an M.D. and a lawyer and is paralyzed from the neck down. A friend went to hear Charles Krauthammer. He listened with 25 others in a closed room. What he says here, is NOT 2nd-hand but 1st. The ramifications are staggering for us, our children and their children.

Last Monday was a profound evening, Dr. Charles Krauthammer spoke to the Center for the American Experiment. He is a brilliant intellectual, seasoned & articulate.. He is forthright and careful in his analysis, and never resorts to emotions or personal insults. He is NOT a fear monger nor an extremist in his comments and views. He is a fiscal conservative, and has received a Pulitzer Prize for writing. He is a frequent contributor to Fox News and writes weekly for the Washington Post.

The entire room was held spellbound during his talk. I have summarized his comments, as we are living in uncharted waters economically and internationally.

Even 2 Dems at my table agreed with everything he said! If you feel like forwarding this to those who are open minded and have not drunk the Kool-Aid, feel free.

Summary of his comments:

1. Mr. Obama is a very intellectual, charming individual. He is not to be underestimated. He is a cool customer who doesn't show his emotions. It's very hard to know what's behind the mask. The taking down of the Clinton dynasty was an amazing accomplishment. The Clintons still do not understand what hit them. Obama was in the perfect place at the perfect time.

2. Obama has political skills comparable to Reagan and Clinton. He has a way of making you think he's on your side, agreeing with your position, while doing the opposite. Pay no attention to what he SAYS; rather, watch what he DOES!

3. Obama has a ruthless quest for power. He did not come to Washington to make something out of himself, but rather to change everything, including dismantling capitalism. He can't be straightforward on his ambitions, as the public would not go along.

He has a heavy hand, and wants to level the playing field with income redistribution and punishment to the achievers of society. He would like to model the USA to Great Britain or Canada .

4. His three main goals are to control ENERGY, PUBLIC EDUCATION, and NATIONAL HEALTHCARE by the Federal government. He doesn't care about the auto or financial services industries, but got them as an early bonus. The cap and trade will add costs to everything and stifle growth. Paying for FREE college education is his goal.. Most scary is his healthcare program, because if you make it FREE and add 46,000,000 people to a Medicare-type single-payer system, the costs will go through the roof. The only way to control costs is with massive RATIONING of services, like in Canada . God forbid!

5. He has surrounded himself with mostly far-left academic types. No one around him has ever even run a candy store. But they are going to try and run the auto, financial, banking and other industries. This obviously can't work in the long run. Obama is not a socialist; rather he's a far-left secular progressive bent on nothing short of revolution. He ran as a moderate, but will govern from the hard left. Again, watch what he does, not what he says.

6. Obama doesn't really see himself as President of the United States , but more as a ruler over the world. He sees himself above it all, trying to orchestrate & coordinate various countries and their agendas. He sees moral equivalency in all cultures. His apology tour in Germany and England was a prime example of how he sees America , as an imperialist nation that has been arrogant, rather than a great noble nation that has at times made errors. This is the first President ever who has chastised our allies and appeased our enemies!

7. He is now handing out goodies. He hopes that the bill (and pain) will not come due until after he is reelected in 2012. He would like to blame all problems on Bush from the past, and hopefully his successor in the future. He has a huge ego, and Dr. Krauthammer believes he is a narcissist.

8. Republicans are in the wilderness for a while, but will emerge strong. Republicans are pining for another Reagan, but there will never be another like him. Krauthammer believes Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty & Bobby Jindahl (except for his terrible speech in February) are the future of the party. Newt Gingrich is brilliant, but has baggage.. Sarah Palin is sincere and intelligent, but needs to really be seriously boning up on facts and info if she is to be a serious candidate in the future... We need to return to the party of lower taxes, smaller government, personal responsibility, strong national defense, and state's rights..

9. The current level of spending is irresponsible and outrageous. We are spending trillions that we don't have. This could lead to hyperinflation, depression or worse. No country has ever spent themselves into prosperity. The media is giving Obama, Reid and Pelosi a pass because they love their agenda. But eventually the bill will come due and people will realize the huge bailouts didn't work, nor will the stimulus package. These were trillion-dollar payoffs to Obama's allies, unions and the Congress to placate the left, so he can get support for #4 above.

10. The election was over in mid-September when Lehman brothers failed, fear and panic swept in, we had an unpopular President, and the war was grinding on indefinitely without a clear outcome. The people are in pain, and the mantra of change caused people to act emotionally. Any Dem would have won this election; it was surprising it was as close as it was..

11. In 2012, if the unemployment rate is over 10%, Republicans will be swept back into power. If it's under 8%, the Dems continue to roll. If it's between 8-10%, it will be a dogfight.. It will all be about the economy. I hope this gets you really thinking about what's happening in Washington and Congress. There is a left-wing revolution going on, according to Krauthammer, and he encourages us to keep the faith and join the loyal resistance... The work will be hard, but we're right on most issues and can reclaim our country, before it's far too late.

Do yourself a long term favor, send this to all who will listen to an intelligent assessment of the big picture. All our futures and children's futures depend on our good understanding of what is really going on in DC, and our action pursuant to that understanding!! It really IS up to each of us to take individual action!! Start with educating your friends and neighbors!!!

U. N. Agenda 21 - The Global Vision

After intense and careful research of the voluminous materials available pertaining to the United Nations Agenda 21 initiative, I will attempt to summarize the scope and impact of this on the world, our nation and our state and local communities.

I am referring the reader here to a pamphlet from Freedom Advocates entitled Understanding Sustainable Development – Agenda 21, that comprehensively explains the origins and goals of Agenda 21.

I will start with an answer to the question – What Is Sustainable Development?

In a statement issued during the 1987 United Nations World Commission on Environment and Development in the Brundtland Report entitled Our Common Future:

"Development that meets the needs of the present
without compromising the ability of future
generations to meet their own needs.”

Agenda 21 was unveiled in 1992 during the Rio Earth Summit, where more than 178 nations adopted it. President George H. W. Bush was the signatory for the United States.

In 1993 President Clinton established, by Executive Order 12852, the President’s Council on Sustainable Development (PCSD) for the purpose of implementing Agenda 21 in the United States.

The concept of Agenda 21 has been considered with negativity in some circles, so you may not hear this exact terminology. Be aware that when you hear such terms as sustainability, smart growth, smart power, nation-building, comprehensive planning, growth management, green anything, these are terms that are synonymous with Agenda 21.

This is a battle between Individual Rights as we understand them and as are enumerated in our Declaration of Independence, and Community Rights, as defined in the U. N. Declaration of Human Rights.

Implementing sustainable development will affect every area of life according to these three objectives: Equity – Using the Law to Restructure Human Nature, Economy - The International Redistribution of Wealth and the Creation of Public/Private Partnerships, and Environment – Nature Above Man.

Educating the Youth to Mold the Minds of Tomorrow – Be very aware of what your children and grandchildren are being taught in their schools. They are impressionable and the drafters of this agenda know it. I have spoken to some children and they actually believe that climate change is anthropogenic (man-made) and the earth will probably be destroyed by the time they are grown. Man-made climate change is not settled science, and to have our children being taught this as fact is irresponsible and should not be permitted.

Stakeholder Councils – Restructuring American Government -

Every local government or county in America now has Sustainable Development directives guided by federal agencies, International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI). These are usually initiated by local public officials (county commissioners or city council members) a local non-profit organization or Non-Government Organizations (the Sierra Club, the National Audubon Society, the Nature Conservancy, the American Planning Association, and the National Teachers Association). If you look at the The Environmental Commission of Hillsborough County you will find quite a bit of information about what is going on right here in the Tampa Bay area. They have their very own Office of Sustainability where, if you go into their report entitled Energy Management and Sustainability Workgroup , on page 8 you can calculate your very own carbon footprint! Isn’t that great?

Funding for Agenda 21 comes from you, the taxpayer, the aforementioned NGO’s, and also several tax-exempt family foundations. These include The Rockefeller Foundation, Pew Charitable Trusts, the Turner Foundation, the David and Lucille Packard Foundation, the James Irvine Foundation, the Carnegie Foundation, the McArthur Foundation, and Community Foundations.

It must be clearly understood that this is neither a Democrat nor Republican issue, liberal or conservative, or left vs. right. It is most assuredly a non-partisan issue.

If you desire more information regarding this issue, I have discovered this very comprehensive report entitled The Global Vision For A Sustainable Future that goes into detailed information regarding all of the tentacles of this insidious and mostly unknown plan for your life. This is my attempt to educate as many people as I can in an effort to thwart the people who are attempting to control your every activity and bring us all into a global One World Order.

In my next article I will get into some details about what is occurring here in the United States in our government's push towards a "sustainable environment."

Climate Control Is Futile - Be Prepared Or Be Sorry

I found a very good site through NewZeal.blogspot.com with an article by Mr. Viv Forbes, who is Chairman of Australia's Carbon Sense Coalition.
Please be aware that there is a cap and trade bill lingering in the Senate right now that, if passed, will cause all energy costs to skyrocket. They are looking to use the lame duck session between the election in November and when the 112th Congress convenes to pass unpopular legislation such as this that they have not been able to pass up until now.

The science is NOT settled on anthropogenic (man-made) climate change, and it makes no sense to start taxing carbon emissions as a way to avert some imagined cataclysmic disaster. In fact, this is a scheme to tax industrialized countries for "excessive" emissions, which will be paid for by purchasing "carbon credits" to offset them. The untold reality of this is that those "carbon credits" will have been granted or subsidized to non-industrialized countries, so when the evil carbon emitters must buy these credits, the money goes into the pockets of those other countries, all the while brokerage companies like GoldmanSachs will stand to make billions, perhaps trillions of dollars in broker fees.  The Chicago Climate Exchange is just one of the big carbon trading corporations that exists all over the globe, and Al Gore happens to have a 10% ownership in this corporation. Hmmm - is anyone seeing a connection here?

Atlas Shrugged: The Documentary (Trailer)

I read Atlas Shrugged when I was 13 and it changed my life. In my quest to discover the meaning of life it instilled in me a true affirmation of self-worth and self-reliance. I also read a lot of Cicero's writings, which helped me to understand the relationship of man with nature and God, and His gift of reason to Man, and Nature's Law, which is undeniable.

Confirmation Of Lame Duck Session

In this article from Erick Erickson of Red State, he has been able to obtain a copy of the Congressional schedule which shows the intent of the Left to push through unpopular legislation after the November elections. Please sign the Lame Duck Petition in my previous blog. It is critical that Washington knows we are watching.

You Work For Us! But Not For Long...

I have attended many local events in my community where I have had the opportunity to meet and speak with incumbent candidates running for political office, all of whom want us to re-elect them to represent us in Washington. I am a member of local tea party organizations and also the Republican club. I keep wondering the same thing after each of these meetings – where have you been? What have you done that would cause me to support your continued stay in “my employ”?

It angers me that it has taken a “grass-roots” movement of people who are fed up with the out-of-control spending, ethics violations, diminution of our constitutional rights, and excessive taxation and intrusion into our personal lives, to get them to pay attention. This is all of them - Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Socialists, Communists, and Marxists - all of them.

We are a constitutional republic, meaning that we elect people to represent our interests in the federal government, so that we are allowed to work, raise families, and live our lives and enjoy the fruits of our labor as we see fit. They are our voice.

Where were they when the health care bill was being pushed through? I know the Democrats did not read the bill, since they did not care what was in it, they knew they were going to vote for it anyway. But did the Republicans not read it either, since they knew they were not going to vote for it? We heard a few representatives speak about some of the issues of contention within the bill, but not much and not very loudly. Are they to blame or is the media? Now that the bill has become law many facts are coming out that are quite distressing. If there had been more coverage on the details of this bill by the media, if our representatives were more vocal and insistent on being heard, if this present administration had kept their campaign promises of transparency, perhaps more people would have paid attention and vigorously protested the passage. The same with the stimulus bill, the jobs bill, the financial regulation bill.

I get the feeling that the Republicans feel that since they are in the minority they can do nothing about it. This is not representation. I do not care what political party you belong to, we deserve and should demand to know what exactly is being proposed. A bill with thousands of pages of new laws and regulations, sometimes including many unrelated issues, is totally egregious.

The first question that should and must be asked is “Is this Constitutional”? Does the federal government have the right to enact this legislation? The powers that “We the People” grant to the federal government are few and specific, as enumerated in the Constitution.

These bills have allowed for the creation of many new bureaucracies with unlimited powers over all of us. Congress has abrogated all of their legislative powers to these bureaucracies (czars) to the point where they are incapable of maintaining the balance of power so critical to the stability of this nation. Do they understand what they have done? Is it too late to right this ship? Can we trust anyone in Washington?

Lame Duck Petition

Newt Gingrich and American Solutions want you to sign this Lame Duck Petition asking your representative to sign this statement that they will not participate in a lame duck session of Congress. The Left could do a lot of damage by passing unpopular legislation in a massive power grab between the November elections and the convening of the 112th Congress. You know they have passed legislation this year against the will of the majority of the American people and they will try to push through as much as they can, especially since many are aware that their days in "public service" are numbered. Please sign it and email it to everyone in your address book.

Ban The Burqa

This is an excellent piece by Claire Berlinski, Ban The Burqa who has lived in Turkey for the past 5 years. I am sure you struggle, as I do, with the question of allowing Muslim women to wear the burqa. After all, this country was founded in part on the rights of the people to practice freedom of religion. We do not want to violate any one's religious rights in America. But we have come to understand that the burqa, and what it represents, is not just oppression of women, but an introduction of Islam and sharia to this country. We should take our cue from the countries of Europe who have allowed this policy to take over, and are now trying to ban the burqa. This is just the beginning...

Planet Gore - National Review Online

There are several interesting articles on this site related to environmental issues. Planet Gore - National Review Online.

  • We have lent over 1.5 Billion Dollars to a solar panel manufacturing company, Solyndra, a private company. This is just another bailout, and the DOE, Goldman Sachs, Solyndra and Steven Chu should be investigated.

  • The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, “the first mandatory, market-based effort in the United States to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Ten Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic states have capped and will reduce CO2 emissions from the power sector 10% by 2018.” This does not seem to be working too well, and the best part is that there is no transparency as to who the investors are that are participating in the trade of carbon credits. Apparently that is none of our business.

  • The EPA now has it's sights on regulating "farm dust".

Very informative column and video by Daniel J. Mitchell of The Cato Institute: American Taxpayers Finance The OECD - This is just a small portion of money that we are spending when you look at the big picture. But isn't it about time that we start to go over what this government spends line by line and cut out those expenditures that do not benefit - and in many instances actually harm the self-interests - of these United States of America?

PETE STARK: - The Federal Government can do most anything in this count...

This guy is representative of those we elected to "serve" us! We need to make our representatives accountable to us. How do we continue to elect IDIOTS like this? We can only blame ourselves and right this ship by voting and electing people who share our conservative values and return this country to what the founding fathers intended.
